The Story of – King Computer Solutions
The challenge: lift conversion of enquiries and improve website SEO
The result: transformed intro letter, dramatically improved SEO, created videos
Brendan King is passionate. He is also good at what he does. He must be to have started his business in 1997 and built it up to be serving so many clients around Sydney. King Computer Solutions offer IT support to small to medium businesses with up to 100 computers
Brendan’s traditional promotional piece he emailed to prospects was however very dull. The team’s qualifications were technically impressive but it lacked any story or personality. The revised pdf included photos, graphics and a stronger call to action. Most of all it introduced some of Brendan’s passion and story. For ease of editing it was kept in a word format and converted to pdf.
Keyword Density
The next project was to rewrite content of the main 12 pages of the website – excluding the home page. By analysing what people were actually searching on in Google a extensive list of relevant keywords was established. Without changing any of the website design this involved editing the back end in WordPress and replacing all the text including meta-titles and meta-descriptions. The goal was to help Google understand clearly what each page was about. By weaving the exact keywords and phrases people search on into the website text it helps it be found by Google.
Here is an example of the change in keyword density for the Business Continuity Planning page – basically “do you have a computer backup!” By repeating the ‘key’ words you are helping Google understand what each page is about.
Keyword or phrases |
Before | After |
Backup | 6 | 17 |
Data | 4 | 25 |
Recovery | 5 | 19 |
Disaster recovery | 4 | 17 |
Data recovery | 0 | 12 |
The power of YouTube for video marketing
The final part of the project was to encourage people to linger on the website longer. I wanted them to ‘hear’ Brendan personally explain his services. Brendan was videoed in his office explaining several different aspects of the business. The videos were uploaded to a customised YouTube channel and embedded in his website.
