In 2008 Neil Pierson had never marketed a school. He wasn’t even sure he wanted to! The particular school was local. Most people didn’t know it existed. It was also very brown and Neil doesn’t like the colour brown!
He somewhat reluctantly accepted the challenge to market a school as a 2 day a week consultant. Now he coordinates an international network of School Marketers through the Centre for Marketing Schools. You can find out what happened at Covenant Christian School Sydney under our Success Stories.
Covenant Christian School has grown. There is much less brown. Locals talk positively about the school.
How did this happen? Rather than copying what others were doing with their school marketing Neil saw what was working in other industries and applied the same marketing principals.
Most of all though it was finding ways for the school to tell more stories!

Since 2008 word has spread about what has been happening at Covenant. Several other schools have engaged Neil as a school marketing consultant for projects. Neil became a regular contributor to Dr Linda Vinings weekly Marketing Schools email newsletter. He presented at her Annual School Marketing Aforia. When she decided to retire she asked Neil to continue the Centre for Marketing Schools.
In 2010 Neil created the Why Christian Schools website to help the marketing of Christian schools by educating parents.
The Association of Victorian Schools requested Neil present to a group of new school Principals on school marketing. He has also presented to the National Board of Christian Education National.
Most of all Neil brings passion to school marketing.
